Building the Data Layer for Fixed-Income Desks

TwoWay was founded in Paris in 2024 to close the gap between broker chat and the buy-side order management system.

Why We Exist

The Problem Has Always Been the Same

Fixed-income desks at asset managers and hedge funds receive most of their pre-trade information from brokers through messaging platforms: Bloomberg Messenger, ICE Chat, Symphony. The messages arrive in seconds. Turning them into structured records that can enter a portfolio or order management system takes minutes of manual work per trade.

That gap does not come from a lack of technology. The platforms exist. The OMS systems exist. What has been missing is a purpose-built layer that understands the language of broker quotes: the abbreviations, the price conventions, the instrument shorthand. That is what TwoWay builds.

We focus on the European fixed-income market because that is where the founders worked before starting TwoWay, where the data is most fragmented across platforms, and where MiFID II requirements make structured record-keeping a regulatory obligation rather than a nice-to-have.

The Team

People Who Have Sat on the Desk

TwoWay is built by people who spent years on the rates and credit side before starting the company.

Chirine Bourgerie, CEO
Chirine Bourgerie
CEO and Co-Founder

Chirine spent a decade on the rates trading desk at a large EU-based bank before moving into data and analytics. She founded TwoWay after years of watching colleagues re-key broker quotes into spreadsheets.

Marc Lefebvre, CTO

Principles

How We Think About the Work

Precision First

A parse that returns an incorrect price or notional is worse than no parse. Every field carries a confidence score. Low-confidence records are flagged for review rather than silently passed to the OMS. We measure ourselves on accuracy, not just throughput.

Built for Compliance

Our clients operate under MiFID II, GDPR, and internal communication review policies. TwoWay is designed to produce records that satisfy those requirements, not to route around them. Source metadata retention, EU data residency, and GDPR Article 28 are features, not afterthoughts.

Close to the Desk

We do not build generic NLP. We build systems that understand how rates, credit, and repo brokers actually write. That specificity requires staying close to desk workflows and updating the parse models as broker idiom evolves. We treat this as an ongoing operational responsibility, not a one-time engineering task.
